Mr Peter Murray

Peter spent 30 years in the Scottish fire and rescue service retiring as an Assistant Chief Officer in 2016. 

Since retiring Peter has been a member of a number of Governance Boards including: 

• NHS Lothian 2016-2024 (Vice Chair)
• Scottish Social Services Council 2019 - present day (current Convenor)
• Ex Officio member of the Care Inspectorate 2025 - present day
• Chair of Bon Accord Care 2019- 2026.

Peter was awarded the Queens Fire Service medal in 2016 and has an MA in Political studies form Aberdeen university and a BSc in Fire Service studies from Lancaster University.

Peter was appointed as a lay Board member in January 2024 for three years.
