In early 2023, the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland will launch two new recruitment competitions.
The Office of Sheriff
We will seek applications from suitably qualified individuals who wish to be considered for recommendation to the Office of Sheriff. There will be vacancies advertised across a wide number of sheriffdoms, and will include vacancies at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
Members of the Social Security Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland
We will also be seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals who wish to be recommended to sit as Members of the Social Security Chamber. We will be seeking Legal Members, Ordinary Members with disability experience and Ordinary Members with medical experience.
It is anticipated that the application window for the Office of Sheriff will open at the end of January whilst the application window for the Social Security Chamber will open in early/mid February.
